How to Remove Someone from Your Connections in LinkedIn

Aren't you on the most popular professional social network online? :) You know what I mean. It's LinkedIn. LinkedIn deserve the medal. Recently we have been noticing different kind of changes on LinkedIn such as mentions. Did you know about new features on LinkedIn? Check out all the new LinkedIn features if you are not aware of them. Anyway it's not about a new feature I'm gonna talk about today. Can you guess? Well, you already know ;)

Keep in Touch

LinkedIn advice their members to connect with professionals they know and would like to know to be keep in touch on LinkedIn. Further, it requests LinkedIn members to accept connection requests from the professionals they know. I'm believe you are aware of it, but do you know why LinkedIn want you to connect with professionals you know or can trust? When you connect with someone, it becomes a first degree connection and the primary email address on your profile will be accessible by that connections. Did you experience your inbox being filled with more promotional emails than ever?

Though Linked state their reasons for why you shouldn't connect with people you don't know, most of the time people go ahead and connect with a lot of people by end of the day or week to have more professionals around. Do you remember that folks on Facebook were keep adding friends back in first days? Yeah, it's not a fault of Facebook or LinkedIn but the users.

Checklist Works?!

To be on safe side, when I get new connection requests on LinkedIn from a person I don't know, I go through their profiles and add if they seem to match with my interests. Though I feel I'm safe enough after the checklist, once I accepted the requests, right after few minutes or on the very next day, I've got a message saying join their group, visit their blog / website or try out their latest products and services. How professional it is?! I really don't like such promotional techniques on social networks and wanted to remove them from my connections right away.

Where's the REMOVE button?

Removing someone from your connections is not an easy task on LinkedIn. The process of removal is easier but finding the remove button took me time. That's not convenient! Anyway we have to follow the rules. If you are on LinkedIn and wanna remove connections, the delete button is not right next to the name or on their LinkedIn profile. You can view all your connections at My Connections, but still you can't remove any of them from there either. Wanna know how to get rid of annoying or not-worth-being-connected LinkedIn members? Just scroll down :)

Steps:

1. Sign in to your LinkedIn profile.

2. Navigate to Remove Connections page.

3. Now select the people you wanna remove from your connections on the left.

4. Click Remove Connections button to remove selected people from your connections.

5. Now you will get a prompt to confirm the removal. Click the button labeled Yes, remove them.

More Information:

* Once you remove a connection, only you can reconnect with the contact again by sending an invitation.

Enjoy :-)
