Hi Mayura,
What a great post my friend. I never thought of creating an app for my blog but it makes total sense and now that I have your easy to follow instructions it's extremely tempting to get over there ASAP.
I have got a plugin (WPTouch) to make my site accessible to mobile users and as that market is growing more and more each day we really do need to keep up with it.
I've got notes everywhere for tasks I have to do Mayura so I'll add this one somewhere near the top :)
Thanks for pointing us all in the right direction.
Take care mate,
Barry
Hi Barry,
Woah... You are here? I hope you doing great my friend :) Health first, right?
It's wonderful, isn't it? :) As more of bloggers are not app developers, this could be a amazing gift for 'em I hope. Readers would love it as they don't need to enter URL everytime they visit. Well, try on your blog and I'm willing to have your app too. Send it here rightaway ;)
Ah WPTouch on WordPress... It's essential to optimize our sites for mobile devices nowadays Barry :) Mobile users don't like slow loading heavy sites. You know that, right?
lol... Seems you have a lot more to go through :) This one is quite simple, and it's easy as 1-2-3 Barry. Only 2 steps :)
Thank you for coming and adding value with your comment Barry :)
Take care mate :)
Cheers...
Thanks for downloading my app...i think if we have a product or service we are offering on our blogs, then it makes sense to create an app and host it on the Google Play. For me, my blog is just a personal one and I dont see many people downloading it.
Yeah Praveen, I agree with it :) As your blog is the main source, you can let readers download the app via your blog. I'm thinking of it too :)
I find the app is much more easier to read blog on mobile than going through bookmarks :) Well, great way to spread the word.
Cheers...
Hi Praveen,
Wow... Cool mate :) Just downloaded your app and will install in few minutes.
Ohw, You will need $25 fee to register as a publisher. It's a roadblock for app creators but I think Google is right about it as it prevents publishing very low quality apps.
Ha ha, love to monetize? :) It's simple. Isn't it? You can select where ads need to be appear too. Now on, you can distribute this app with your friends and readers.
Thanks for commenting and glad you built one for your blog mate :)
Cheers...
Hi Brenda,
Yippy... Hope you like to have your own Android app for your blog ;) Let me know how you liking it...
Thanks for coming and commenting dear :)
Cheers...
Hi Lisa,
It's more of mobile view dear :) Best for blogs and websites with information. Retail sites? Oh... I doubt it.
Few more features such as Screen Orientation included to compatible with Android devices. There are more options you can check out though. You can see preview there before you create your app :)
Well, try it out and see how it goes dear. Can use help for retail sites?
Thank you so much for the suggestion too Lisa :) I've added my app preview, so readers can get better understanding.
Thanks for coming and commenting dear :)
Cheers...
Mayura, I've been wanting to this for months with retail sites. How does it compare to the mobile sites I have? Is there a huge difference? Love to see an example of one. Thanks for sharing this one.
Hi Mayura, This is very cool! Thank you so much for sharing this. I definitely want to try this for The Wonder of Tech. I think $25 is a bargain to get it on Google Play. I had seen something similar for iOS but it was going to cost $250/month to host. Not a great deal there.
I will be downloading your and Praveen's app as well. So cool!
Hi Carolyn,
Yeah dear :) Cool indeed. I find it very helpful to read blogs that way eventhough it's a basic app. Just one touch on app and view :)
I didn't know about getting access to Apple Store. That's too much compared to Google Play, no? Competition is always reaching to the climax and app developers have to struggle more than I thought before.
Well, feel free to share your app too dear :) I'd like to use it on my mobile too.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your views dear :) I'm glad you downloaded Praveen's and mine too...
Cheers...
Hi Harleena,
Yippy dear... This has no complications involved :) BUT when we think of building an app, that's what comes to our mind...
All you need to do is filling up your blog information and in next moment, you will have your own app that can installed in Android mobile devices and read your blog right from the mobile device without typing your blog address.
It will take only less than one minute :) And as I implied, it's best for blogs and website with information only though. So you can have one for your blog.
I hope you will like it once you get your app created for you blog :)
Thanks for coming and sharing your perspectives on it dear :)
Cheers...
Hi Mayura
That is really great app builder, I have an intranet portal in ASP.NET, will I be able to convert that into an android application? Thanks for sharing this great info.
Sapna
Hi Sapna,
Yippy... You can try out for your blog too dear :) Ah... If your ASP.net portal is compatible with mobile devices, then most probably it's gonna work out dear. You can easily enter URL and find out how it goes. If the preview is not generating there, you will need to install app and see :)
Hope you will be able to get the app working for your portal :)
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your views dear :)
Cheers...
HI Mayura
It's an intranet application, so URL won't help. OK so now I need to install on the client machine to generate the preview.
I hope it should work......Need to give demo to client.
Thanks
Sapna
Ah sorry, I misread your first comment :) Thought it's hosted online. Mmm... There's a problem though as this application builder generates preview on Android app directly accessing website via Internet. Exactly the mobile view, but via app :) Need to have public access too.
Well, as I have no such source I can't assure dear :) Play with it and check it out. But the input goes with URL though, else HTML.
Cheers...
Hi Mayura, No issues, I will check that.....Thanks for your prompt response -Sapna
You're always welcome Sapna :)
Cheers...
